How to take a Screen Drop

This is also known as taking a screen capture, screen cap, or screen dump



Step 1). Position the item you would like to capture on your screen and press the print screen (PrtScn) key on your keyboard.





Step 2). Open Paint.





Step 3). Paste the captured image into paint (you can also press ctrl-v to do this).





Step 4). Crop the image by clicking and dragging the little blue square in the bottom right of paint up to meet the bottom right corner of the image.





Step 5). Flip the image 180 degrees, crop the other corner, then flip it back 180 degrees.





Step 6). If you are having trouble cropping the image exactly, drag it close then zoom in with the magnifying glass before continuing.





Step 7). Save the image as a PNG file only. There are other options, but they do not work well with Paint.







Step 8). To print the image, select print.





Step 9). To upload the image to the web visit http://imageshack.us/. Click 'browse', locate and select the image you saved, then click 'host it'.





Step 10). Highlight the text that displays in the 'Direct link to image', and copy it (ctrl-c). This is the link to your image.





Step 11). To display your image in a stripcreator forum entry, click the image button (which looks like a tree).





Step 12). Paste your link into the 'Image URL' section, then press the 'Insert' button. Your image will now display in the post.
